DIVISION B of Harborough Men's Summer Darts League saw Wayne Ryder of Nelson B chalk up his first competitive 180.
The young player hit the maximum in a contest with Nelson A, helping to win 2-1 against tough opponent Matt Mossman (105 away, 127, 125).

In an exciting match, both teams claimed three singles to leave the score level at 9-9.

The see-saw battle
continued in the triples, with the B team winning the first set after five arrows from Ben Hobson (125, 100).

In the final set, the A team delivered a strong performance by Adam Coe and won 2-1 to secure a 12-12 draw.

Division B also produced an interesting clash when top team Royalist hosted Harborough Conservative A. The home side gained a 5-1 advantage following excellent darts by Roy Reid but Conservative fought back to 6-6 through Dan Ritchie and Graham Panter (123 out, 4 x 100 plus).

In an impressive display, Panter was also on target for a sensational 167 checkout but his final dart missed the bull by a whisker.

Royalist regrouped in the last two singles - with big shots from Neil Chudley (112, 2 x 100) - and won both sets to go 11-7 ahead.

In the triples, Cons struggled – despite a fine 120 away from Denis Thacker – and lost both sets to give Royalist a 17-7 victory.

Division A’s outstanding match was a derby between Nag’s Head A and Nag’s B.

The A-team won the first singles 3-0 through Andy Vaughan (180) and the B’s then reciprocated with a hat-trick for Stevie Hill.

In the next four singles, the teams were evenly matched with both sides claiming two sets to produce a score of 9-9.

The triples saw the A’s win the first set 3-0 after superb darts by veteran star John Burton senior (140, 125, 2 x 100).

The B-team fought back on the second set - with a strong showing by Pete McCusker -but the A’s finally achieved a 14-10 triumph.

Nag’s Head C visited Top Club B for a game which recorded an exceptional tally of big scores.

Nag’s produced big shots by Jamie Alden (3 x 140), Alf Marlow (180, 4 x 100-plus) and Simon Almey (100 away, 140, 134).

Top responded with salvoes from Gary Drage (2 x 140, 139), Chris Almey (5 x 100) and Dan Woodhouse (140, 135).

But Nag’s proved best overall in the encounter, winning 20-4 for their 11th consecutive success.

Red Cow were on top form when they travelled to Red Lion, Rothwell. The visitors recorded fine efforts by Dave Simmonds (100 away, 3 x 100) and Kev Hendley (140, 123, 2 x 100) and finished the singles 11-8 in front.

Lion supplied impressive arrows through Craig Norman (140, 121, 100) but Cow finally prevailed 14-10.

l TOP Club’s Leicestershire Super League darts team lost to champions Leicester North 3-6.

Former Top Club player Jamie Alden, playing for his new team, won 3-1 (2 x 100, 1 x 120, 135, 2 x 140, 180). Pete Johnson (100, 121, 125, 4 x 140) lost a titanic match against Andy Hibbert. Top’s top man Lee Saville (4 x 100, 3 x 180) won 3-0 and recorded the highest average, 30.67.
