HARBOROUGH Town under-9s Riders extinguished Dunton and Broughton Flame with a remarkable 14-1 victory to continue their unbeaten run.
Six-goal Tomer Sapir and Benedict Garcia (four) led the way, with Thomas Fielding (two), Ciaran Hill and Josh Wakefield also getting in on the act.
Harborough under-15s were also among the goals as they crushed county cup opponents Ibstock 9-1.
Ben Windle opened the scoring and Tom Webb netted four times before the break. Man of the match Oli Watts, Windle and Adam Pinkoski completed the job.
Harborough under-8s Royals came from behind to pip derby rivals Fleckney 3-2 with a hat-trick from Roy Gutman – his winner coming in the last minute. An inspired performance from keeper Ben Fraser was also key for Royals.
Keeper Tommy Higson’s excellence could not prevent a 3-2 loss for Harborough under-10s Renegades against Bushby Foxes.
Joshua Cooper and Tom Leonard shone in defence for Town while man of the match Alex Kenyon scored their first goal and set up the second for Lewis Spiby.
Harborough under-10s Regals fought out a 3-3 county cup draw at Loughborough before losing the second round tie on penalties.
They had been two goals up courtesy of Matt Brown and Tom Shellard, while Elliott Coe’s second half strike made it 3-1 but the comfortable lead was squandered despite Ross Barnett’s fine goalkeeping.
Harborough 94 under-11s ground out their second win with a gritty performance against in-form Wigston United.
Man of the match Chris Arkwright and Jacob Bentley struck the Harborough goals in the first half. Wigston eventually replied after the break despite the sterling efforts of George Norton, Ewan Waddington, Callum Palmer-Walsh and keeper Max Parfrey to keep them at bay.
Like the under-10s, Harborough under-12s bowed out of the county cup on penalties.
Charlie West had fired them in front in the first half at Northfields, but missed chances were to cost Town dear as his goal was cancelled out in the closing seconds of normal time. A blank period of extra time was followed by the decisive shoot-out.
Harborough 94 under-16s lost 2-1 to higher-placed Royce Rangers in the cup despite another improved peformance.
Rangers went two up in the first period, while Harborough’s main strike threat came in the form of Sean Barkes.
Skipper Adam Frost pulled a goal back for Town, who then a gilt-edged chance to equalise after being awarded a penalty but Chris Carter struck his kick wide.
Harborough under-9s Risers produced a good performance in their 2-2 draw with Baby Dynamite.
They took a deserved lead following a fine solo effort from man of the match Jack Bright.
