FREE drop-in sports sessions are set to begin in Harborough thanks to support from a new charity.
Harborough District Council and the Harborough District Sport and Activity Alliance (HDSAA) have linked-up with the recently-established national charity StreetGames to run sports sessions in Harborough for a year.

The Streetgames charity aims to
encourage young people who are not taking advantage of sports opportunities and will run football, cricket, athletics and dance sessions – all taken by qualified sports coaches.

The sessions start at Welland Park from Wednesday, September 17, and will continue each Wednesday from 6 to 7.30pm.

From October 8 sessions will move to the sports hall at Welland Park College and continue every Wednesday during term time from 6 to 7pm.

THE INCLUSIVE sports club for people with disabilities is due to start again at Harborough Leisure Centre.

Sessions will take place from tomorrow and continue at the centre every Friday from 5 to 6pm during term time.

The club, launched this year by wheelchair tennis player Jayant Mistry, is open to children and adults with disabilities, including those with learning disabilities.

For more phone Andrew Watson at Harborough District Council on 01858 821289.
