VANDALS have attacked the new £300,000 play area in Welland Park just months after it was opened.
Police have appealed for witnesses after yobs vandalised a chain, swing and a young birch tree at some point between last Monday and last Tuesday (Sept 29 and 30).

The damage is thought to be £500.

A grand opening ceremony to open the facility was held on August 4 with 7/7 bombings survivor Gill Hicks and Harborough four-year-old Eva Winston-Hart doing the honours.

People can phone PC 1524 Steve Winn by phoning 0116 2222222 or by email to mktharb.lpu@leicestershire.pnn.police.uk
