CONTROVERSIAL wind turbine proposals will be in the spotlight at two public exhibitions being held in Lubenham and Harborough.
The Mail revealed in June that wind turbines taller than the London Eye and nearly the height of Big Ben could be on their way to fields between Lubenham and Gartree as part of a proposal from Cumbrian company Energy4All.

It wants to build four 12
5-metre tall, 90-metre wide turbines on farmer James Wright’s land and the firm has already received planning permission for an anemometer mast at the site to monitor wind speed and direction.

Concerned residents in Lubenham and other nearby villages have told the Mail they fear the turbines will be a blight on the landscape, noisy and inefficient.

But other residents and green campaigners have backed the idea. It has sparked a war of words through the Mail’s letters page.

Energy4All this week announced it will be holding two public exhibitions about the plans which will include technical details of the project and an opportunity to join a co-operative which would see members benefit financially from the turbines.

A representative from the company will be on hand to answer questions.

The first exhibition will be held at Lubenham Village Hall on Wednesday, October 15, between 3 and 8pm, with the second at Harborough Methodist Church, Northampton Road, on October 16, between 3 and 8pm.
