A WOMEN-only driving challenge is being held at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground on Sunday, October 19, in aid of the British Red Cross and the Fire Fighters' Charity.
The event, which is only open to female drivers aged 17 or over, will give motorists the chance to try their hand behind the wheels of a huge variety of vehicles, including fire engines, HGVs and four wheel drives.

Joint event organiser Mary Morgan said: "The Ladies Driving Challenge promises to be an exciting day, with the chance to operate a fantastic collection of 'macho' vehicles.

"The challenge is really relaxed with the focus on handling vehicles with skill and enjoying new experiences, as well as raising money for a good cause."

Registration is £10 and everyone taking part is asked to raise a minimum of £90 in sponsorship.

All money raised at the event will be split between the British Red Cross and the Fire Fighters' Charity.

To take part, phone Mary Morgan on 0116 274 6947, or book online at www.redcross.org.uk. Alternatively, phone Laura Harden on 07798 725560 or email lharden@firefighterscharity.org.uk.
